In their private meeting, I think Trump will offer Putin “Western” status in a new grand alliance against the PRC.
I want to make sure I share my thoughts about the upcoming Trump-Putin Summit in Alaska. It may not happen because of Putin’s growing paranoia that someone may take him out en route or the Russian plane he is flying in crashes due to poor maintenance. That would not be a good look for anyone.
First off, the media keeps over exaggerating Putin’s negotiating skills. Putin is not clever by any means because he is ex-KGB. A friend of mine who used to follow these things said the KGB was rated 37th of tip 50 intelligence services worldwide just ahead number 36th CIA. Or was it the other way around?
The only special skill he has is seeing the obvious that the USSR was doomed and he had to have his own exit plan for retirement. Putin does have the western envy gene deep in him. Trump will run circles around him playing off this.
As for the Ukraine War, the Ukraine people want a ceasefire according to recent polling. A Ukraine War ceasefire can be structured just like Korean War agreement in which future boundaries were deferred for another day. This means Ukraine will not be giving up anything but be able to build and come back stronger just like South Korea. I have 100% confidence in this.
Trump has patiently waited for a private meeting with Putin to offer the following:
“Western” status in a new grand alliance against the PRC made public.
This will be combined with a ceasefire war in the Ukraine war at the existing current lines.
As part of this Putin could shift troops back to his vulnerable eastern border where troop levels have been reduced for the Ukraine war.
This grand alliance will perhaps actually keep the PRC to rethink its own misguided imperialistic adventures.
This is a bold move that would turn flip all the pieces on the chess board while maintaining a world at peace.
It’s not so crazy and it might work.
